Tank System 12
The tank is shipped pre-charged to 40 PSI.
Before starting the system, check precharge with an air pressure gauge.
Add or remove air to match the precharge pressure in the chart.
Check precharge pressure periodically. If the pump seems to start too soon,
it may need to have air added.
To check and add air:
Step 1. Turn off power to the pump.
Step 2. Open a household faucet to relieve system pressure.
Step 3. Close the isolation valve between the pump/tank and the household
water system.
Step 4. Drain water from the tank.
Step 5. Using an air pressure gauge (like those used for car tires) check the
tank pressure.
Step 6. If the air pressure is less than the tank precharge pressure shown in
the chart (either 18 or 28 pounds), use an air pump to bring it to
the correct pressure.
Step 7. Close the drain valve and open the isolation valve.
Step 8. Apply power to the pump.
