Logical Partition
• In some countries, calls from VoIP to Public Network (PSTN, PLMN) are not
allowed. Default settings restrict trunk-to-trunk calls in order not to violate
telecom regulatory requirement in any country.
• If there is no such regulatory requirement in your country which restricts trunk-
to-trunk calls, go to the "Logical Partition" page and set the combo box to
"Allow" from Category-1 to Category-1 calls and Category-1 to VoIP calls. As all
the trunks are assigned category-1, calls between all types of trunks will be
automatically allowed.
• To restrict calls between certain categories of trunks and allow calls between
certain categories of trunk follow the steps given below:
• Assign 'Category' to the trunk ports by configuring 'Category', from
respective web page for trunk parameters. A trunk port can be assigned a
category from 1 to 3. Select Category '1' if the trunk port is to be interfaced
with PSTN or PLMN (Public Land Mobile Network). Select Category '2' if the
leased line is to be terminated on the trunk port. Select Category '3' if the
port is to be used to interconnect two PBXs, e.g. QSIG. The default is '1'.
• Now, on the web page 'Logical Partition', select the option ‘allow/restrict’
from the box to manage call traffic between different categories of trunks
and with the VoIP Trunk.
• For more information, refer the description for , 'Logical Partition' in the System
Manual.
