2.5 Training
1. Read the Owner’s Manual carefully. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls and the
proper use of the equipment. Know how to stop the unit quickly.
2. Never allow children to operate the equipment. Never allow adults to operate the
equipment without proper instructions.
3. Keep the area of operation clear of all persons, particularly small children and pets.
4. Always stay alert. Watch what you are doing and use common sense. Do not operate unit
when fatigued.
5. Understand the use of all plow controls.
2.6 Preparation
1. Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to be used and remove all foreign
objects.
2. Check the drive wheel and plow foot are free of any obstruction.
3. Check the engine crankcase oil level.
4. Operate in daylight only.
5. Do not operate in wet soil, which clogs the drive wheel and increases the danger of
slipping or falling.
6. Always wear substantial footwear and long pants. Do not operate the equipment when
barefoot or wearing open sandals.
7. Wear ear and eye protection. Eye protection must meet applicable CE requirements. To
avoid hearing damage, we recommend hearing protection be worn whenever using the
equipment.
8. Handle fuel with care; it is highly flammable.
9. Use an approved fuel container.
10. Never add fuel to a running engine or hot engine.
11. Fill fuel tank outdoors with extreme care. Never fill fuel tank indoors.
12. Replace gasoline cap securely and clean up spilled fuel before starting.
13. Check that clutch lever is dis-engaged and clutch cable has slack, before starting the
engine.
14. Never attempt to make any adjustments while the engine (motor) is running.
15. Allow engine sufficient warm-up period.
2.7 Operation
1. Give complete and undivided attention to the job at hand.
2. Familiarize yourself with the controls. Be sure you know how to stop the machine quickly.
Do not start engine until you set machine on ground to be plowed.
3. Hold the handle with your left hand while pulling the starter rope with your right. Be sure
the machine will not roll or tip during the starting operation.
