2.8 Maintenance and Storage
1. Keep machine, attachments, and accessories in safe working conditions.
2. Check shear bolts, engine mounting bolts, and other bolts at frequent intervals for proper
tightness to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
3. Never store the machine with fuel in the fuel tank inside a building where ignition sources
are present, such as hot water and space heaters, clothes dryers, etc. allow the engine to
cool before storing in any enclosure.
4. Never adjust the machine or change attachment until the engine has been turned off and
the spark plug wire disconnected. Otherwise, it is possible the engine could start while
making adjustments or repair.
5. Keep engine free from accumulations of grass, leaves or excessive grease. An
accumulation of these combustible materials may result in a fire.
6. Store gasoline in safe container. Store the container in a cool, dry place not in the house
or near heating appliances.
7. Never store machine with fuel in the fuel tank inside a building where open flame or spark
are present. Allow engine to cool before storing in any enclosure.
8. Keep machine and fuel container in locked storage to prevent children from playing or
tampering with them.
9. Maximum operating results and safety can only be expected if the machine is maintained
and operated correctly.
10. Always refer to the storage instructions (Section 10) for important details if the plow is to
be stored for an extended period.
