While the system is on stand-by, drive the
vehicle in the centre of the vehicle lane.
When all of the following conditions are
met, the lane-keep assist system display is
indicated in the multi-information display
and the system becomes operational.
l
The engine is running.
l
The vehicle speed is about 60 km/h (37
mph).
l
White (yellow) lane lines are detected.
l
The driver is operating the steering
wheel.
l
The driving lane is neither narrow nor
wide.
The lane-keep assist system goes on
stand-by status in the following cases:
l
The system cannot detect white
(yellow) lane lines.
l
The vehicle speed is less than about 60
km/h (37 mph).
l
The ABS/TCS/DSC is operating.
l
The DSC is turned off.
l
The vehicle is making a sharp curve.
l
The vehicle is making a curve at an
inadequate speed.
l
The driver takes his or her hands off
the steering wheel (not holding the
steering wheel).
l
Sudden acceleration/deceleration.
l
Driving on winding roads.
NOTE
l
(When the timing of the steering
assist is set to “Late”)
l
The lane-keep assist system does
not operate until the system
detects white (yell ow) lane lines
on either the left or right.
l
When the system detects a white
(yellow) lane line on one side
only, the system will not activate
warnings for the lane line on the
side that is not being detected.
The warning is only for a lane
deviation on the side that is being
detected.
l
(When the timing of the steering
assist is set to “Early”)
l
When the steering assist timing is
set to “Early”, the lane-keep assist
system does not operate until the
system detects white (yellow) lane
lines on the left and right. When
the system only detects white
(yellow) lane lines on either the
left or right, the system only
operates for a lane deviation on
the side being detected.
l
The steering wheel operation
assist is performed so that the
vehicle remains near the centre of
the driving lane, however,
depending on conditions such as
the road curvature, road slope and
undulations, and vehicl e speed,
the system may not be able to
keep the vehicle near the centre of
the driving lane.
