Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting examples are provided in “installation order” specifically to help the installer
through the process. The “top twelve” technical support issues are also listed and referenced
below. (If you are looking at this on-line (in a pdf file), just click on a top twelve topic to jump to
that spot in the guide. If there are multiple entries, just click on the page number.
Closing torque too high: Please refer to “Torque Adjustment” on page 36.
Closing torque too low: Please refer to “Torque Adjustment” on page 36.
Opening torque too high: Please refer to “Torque Adjustment” on page 36.
Opening torque too low: Please refer to “Torque Adjustment” on page 36.
•No DCL: Refer to page 17, page 8, page 30, and page 32.
•No DOL: Refer to page 18, page 8, page 33.
Cannot learn: Refer to page 17, page 31.
Cannot change parameters: Refer to page 22, page 31.
Doors drift close: Refer to page 8.
Doors drift open: Refer to page 8.
Cut encoder cable, no yellow/green wire: Refer to page 11.
Car and hoistway door bumpers: Refer to page 9.
Power Up
When power is applied to the SmarTraq Drive, the GREEN LED (DL1-U) on the main board will
light. The RED LED (DL2-R) on the main board should remain OFF. The Programmer board
should display a SINGLE BAR and the REMOTE or LOCAL led will be ON.
IF… Programmer display and Remote or Local LEDs are off and green LED on main board
is on:
1. Check connections between main board and programmer board.
2. Verify connectors are inserted correctly.
IF… Programmer display and Remote or Local LEDs are off and green LED on main board
is off:
1. Confirm correct AC voltage provided to terminals.
2. Check all connections between AC voltage supply from controller to transformer in the
drive.
3. Confirm main line disconnect switch is ON.
4. Confirm all fast connectors inside drive are inserted correctly.
5. Confirm that no pieces of conductive material dropped onto boards.
6. Check fuses in drive.
IF… The red LED on main board is on:
1. Confirm input voltage matches drive, line input configuration. Please refer to “SmarT-
raq Wiring Diagram” on page 6.
2. Confirm that no pieces of conductive material dropped onto boards.
3. Confirm all fast connectors inside drive are inserted correctly.
