The change in the high frequencies volume level
(TREBLE) can be performed by pressing the Remote
Control LEVEL UP / DOWN Push-buttons or by
rotating the Front Panel Volume Control to increase
the Treble (refer to figure 73) or to decrease the Treble
(refer to figure 74) of the high frequencies.
The Front Panel Display indicates the Treble changes
in 1dB steps from +12dB to -12dB. After approximate-
ly 6 seconds the display returns to indicate the Source
Selection and Volume Level.

MONO/STEREO MODE
By default the Stereo Mode is active for all Input
Sources however, any Input Source may be assigned to
the Mono Mode of operation. To change Stereo Mode
to Mono for a given Input Source, perform the same
type of steps by using the Front Panel Controls or the
Remote Control Pushbuttons as done for Treble and/or
Bass Settings:
Note: The audio signal present at the FIXED OUT
Jacks is affected by the Stereo/Mono setting.
1. Select the desired Input Source.
2. Select “MONO / STEREO,

indicated on the Front Panel Information Display.

3. To select MONO Mode adjust the TRIM LEVEL.
Refer to figure 79.
After approximately 6 seconds the Information
Display returns to indicate the Source Selection and
Volume Level.
AMPLIFIER METER ILLUMINATION
The Meter Illumination of McIntosh Power Amplifiers
when connected to the C49 (refer to pages 7-8) may
be switched On or Off by performing the same type
BASS
The intensity of the low frequencies in the music can
be increased or decreased by using the same function-
ing of the Remote Control and/or Front Panel Controls
as previously performed for Treble Changes in the
music.
The change in the low frequencies volume level
(BASS) can be performed by pressing the Remote
Control LEVEL UP / DOWN Push-buttons or by ro-
tating the Front Panel Volume Control. Refer to figure
75.
The appearance of Increasing the Bass (refer to figure
76) or to decrease the Bass (refer to figure 77).
