General precautions and warnings
15
If the FineTuner Echo becomes wet, wipe it off with a dry tissue.
Do not use the FineTuner Echo in environments where radio frequency (RF) trans‑
missions are prohibited.
Do not use the FineTuner Echo in the vicinity of strong ionising radiation (e.g. x‑ray
machines) or electromagnetic elds (e.g. MRI machines).
Do not operate the FineTuner Echo while in control of a vehicle. Doing so will
detract from your control and operation of that vehicle. In some countries, operat‑
ing such devices while in control of a vehicle is an offense.
Use of the FineTuner Echo adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be
avoided because it could result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, the
FineTuner Echo and the other equipment should be observed to verify that they are
operating normally.
Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna
cables and external antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm to any part of
the FineTuner Echo, including cables specied by MED‑EL. Otherwise, degradation
of the performance of the FineTuner Echo could result.
Children shall be instructed not to swallow or put any components of their
MED‑EL Cochlear Implant System into their mouths or to play with any compo‑
nents. Swallowing of system components could cause suffocation or internal
injury.
Air travel
In addition to EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and FAA (Federal Aviation
Administration) requirements, airline regulations require suspending wireless operations
before boarding an airplane. The FineTuner Echo should not be used on aircrafts unless
specically permitted by the ight personnel. Please secure your FineTuner Echo by
placing it, for instance, in a garment pocket.
