Tensioning the saw blade
DANGER: Overtensioning can cause the blade to snap. If there is not
enough tension the blade can start slipping.
1. Push the upper saw blade guide up as far as it will go.
2. Check the blade tension by pressing on the side of blade
midway between the table and the upper blade guide. It
should only be possible to bend in the blade 3–5 mm.
3. Adjust the blade tension, if necessary.
4. Turn the set screw (9) anticlockwise to increase the tension
of the blade.
5. Turn the set screw (9) clockwise to reduce the tension of
the blade.
Aligning the saw blade
Centre the saw blade on the wheels, if necessary, by changing the angle of the upper saw blade wheel.
1. Undo the lock nut (K).
2. Turn the set screw (10).
3. Turn the set screw (10) clockwise if the saw blade goes against the front of the saw.
4. Turn the set screw (10) anticlockwise if the saw blade goes against the back of the saw.
5. Tighten the lock nut (K).
Aligning the upper blade guide
The upper blade guide consists of the following parts.
A support roller that supports the back of the saw blade.
Two guide pins that support the saw blade sideways. Adjust the support roller and guide pins when changing the saw blade.
NOTE: Check all the bearings at regular intervals for wear. Always replace both guide roller bearings at the same time.
Adjusting the support roller
1. Adjust and tension the saw blade, if necessary.
2. Release the set screw (50) for the support roller.
3. Adjust the support roller (51). The gap between roller and
saw blade should be 0.5 mm. Turn round the saw blade by
hand and check that it does not touch the roller.
4. Tighten the set screw (50) for the support roller.
Adjusting the guide pins
1. Undo the screws (52).
2. Press the guide pins (53) towards each other and against the
saw blade.
3. Turn round the saw blade several turns by hand and adjust the
guide pins so that both pins are just ush with the saw blade.
4. Tighten the screws (52).
