Trunk under pressure from side.
DANGER: The tree moves sideways.
Hold the tool not more than 60° to the horizontal plane when limbing, to avoid contact with falling
branches.
Saw off the branches at the bottom of the tree first. This makes it easier for sawn off branches to fall
to the ground.
The saw will suddenly feel heavier after the sawing, when it is no longer supported by the branch.
There is therefore a risk of losing control of the saw.
The chain must always be driving when you pull the saw out from the cut. This avoids jamming the
saw.
Do not saw with the tip of the bar.
Do not saw too close to the trunk. This will prevent the tree from healing.
Cutting off small branches.
Place the bottom side of chain against the branch. This prevents the saw snatching in the beginning
of the cut. Move the saw down with a slight pressure through the branch from above and down.
Cutting off thick branches.
In larger branches you make a stress-relieving
cut.
Fi
rst saw 1/3 of the cross section of the
branch from underneath and upwards (a).
Now use the bottom side of the bar to saw
down from above towards the first cut (b).
You can saw off longer branches in
sections to control where they will land.
