Trunk lying with both ends on the ground
If the trunk is lying with both ends on the ground, first saw 1/3 of the cross section of the trunk from above
and then 2/3 from underneath.
Sawing logs
Always stand above the trunk when sawing on sloping ground. Apply less pressure towards the end of
the cut, to reduce the risk of losing control of the saw when the trunk goes in two. Make sure that the
chain does not touch the ground. When you have finished sawing, wait until the chain stops before
removing the saw. Always switch off the chain saw before starting with the next cut.
The second cut is sawn 2/3 of the way into the trunk
from underneth, right below the first cut to prevent
the saw jamming.
The first cut is sawn 1/3 of the way into the
trunk from above to prevent the trunk
splitting.
Stand above the trunk when sawing on sloping
ground in case the trunk starts to roll.
