When performing the cleaning activities, make
sure that the machine …
is never immersed in water and
water is never poured on it and
it is never sprayed clean with a hose.
Also, do not spray the setup area, for
example, with a water hose or high-pressure
cleaner.
Danger to life from electrical shock may otherwise
occur from water entering the unit and touching live
parts.
First pull the power plug and allow the machine
to cool before performing cleaning activities on the
machine by hand.
You thereby prevent the risk of injury from
accidentally touching hot or moving parts during
cleaning.
10.a Safety precautions during cleaning!
Caution: While the cleaning programs run, hot water
and steam are dispensed for some time. Risk of
scalding!
Make sure to use the splash guard to prevent
anyone from reaching into the dispensing area during
cleaning.
P For this purpose, first fold the cup tray up and
slightly pull out the grounds drawer.
Engage the splash guard in the grounds drawer
and push it shut again.
After cleaning has been completed, remove the
splash guard again in the reverse sequence.
Careful when using cleaning agents! The
ingredients are hazardous to your health when
swallowed and breathed in and irritate the eyes and
skin. Therefore:
Keep them inaccessible to children.
Wear suitable protective gloves.
Follow the warning instructions on the
cleaning agent containers (see chapter 6).
