10.b Starting the cleaning program
After you have called the basic menu with the chip
key as described at 7.b ...
select the function "Cleaning" and …
then the menu item …
– "Cleaning and switch-off" if you want to
have the milk and brewing system cleaned
and the machine shall subsequently switch
itself off.
– "Intermediate cleaning" if you want to have
the milk and brewing system cleaned and
subsequently want to continue operating the
machine.
– "Cleaning the milk system" if you only want
to clean the milk system.
– "Cleaning the brewing system" if you only
want to clean the brewing system.
The cleaning cycle cannot be terminated. If the
supply voltage is interrupted during cleaning, the
machine requests cleaning again after switching
it on.
If the cleaning menu does not appear …
after you have selected the "Cleaning" function, the
following may be the case:
The capacity of the water filter is depleted. The
symbol "Change water filter" then appears first
in the display. Confirm with "OK" as soon as this
has been done.
Grounds discharge in container has been set.
In this case, the symbol "Empty container" first
appears in the display. Confirm with "OK" as
soon as this has been done.
Next, the selection menu referred to above with the
various cleaning programs appears.
If a machine part has already been cleaned …
this cleaning action is automatically skipped.
However, if both machine parts have already been
cleaned, the question appears first in the display
during the program "Cleaning and switch-off" or
"Intermediate cleaning" …
– whether cleaning shall nonetheless be done.
Respond to these questions as desired either
with the "Yes" or "No" button.
When pushing "Yes" both system are cleaned;
nothing is cleaned when pushing "No".
Subsequently, the machine switches itself off again or
returns to be ready for dispensing, depending on the
selection.
