Technical safety
Installation and repair work to electrical machines must only be
carried out by a qualified person in strict accordance with current lo-
cal and national safety codes. Repairs and other work by unqualified
persons could be dangerous.
This washing machine should be installed by MieleCustomerSer-
vice or by an authorized dealer.
Before installing the washing machine, check it for visible signs of
damage. Do not install or use a damaged washing machine.
The electrical safety of this washing machine can only be achieved
if it is grounded properly. It is essential that this standard safety re-
quirement is met. If in any doubt, please have building's wiring sys-
tem inspected by a qualified electrician. Miele cannot be held respon-
sible for the consequences of an inadequate grounding system (e.g.
electric shock).
Unauthorized repairs could result in unforeseen dangers for the
user, for which the manufacturer cannot accept responsibility. Re-
pairs should only be undertaken by a Miele authorized service techni-
cian, otherwise any subsequent damage may not be covered by the
warranty.
Do not make any alterations to the machine, unless authorized to
do so by Miele.
Disconnect the washing machine from the power supply in the
event of a fault and for cleaning and maintenance. The washing ma-
chine is only electrically disconnected from the power supply when
- the electrical plug of the washing machine is unplugged, or
- circuit breaker is disconnected, or
- the screw-in fuse has been completely removed.

Washing machines with a damaged control element or cord insula-
tion must not be used until they have been repaired.
Only operate the washing machine when all removable outer pan-
els are in place so that it is impossible to touch an electrical compo-
nent or moving part.
In the event of a fault or for cleaning and maintenance purposes,
the washing machine must be isolated from the electricity supply. It is
only completely isolated when
- the electrical plug of the washing machine is unplugged, or
- the fuse is disconnected, or
- the screw-in fuse has been completely removed.
