Requirements
WIRING GUIDELINES
These guidelines apply for any cable, supplied or not, used with an EX
controller.
• Always use straight through cables.
• Cables must not pull or create a lateral stress on the connectors; that
is, they must be long enough.
• Cables must be installed in such a way not to present a trip hazard to
personnel working in the vicinity of the equipment.
• Keep cables away from:
- Sources of electrical noise such as radios, transmitters, and
broadband amplifiers
- Power lines
- Fluorescent lighting fixtures
- Liquids or moisture
- Heat sources
