When measuring a child’s temperature in Ear Mode
• Children under one year: Gently pull the ear
straight back.
• Children aged one year to adult: Gently pull the ear up
and back.
Caution: Do not force the thermometer into the ear
canal. Doing so may cause injury to the ear canal.
Caution: When taking an adult’s temperature, gently pull
the ear up and back to ensure the ear canal is straight so
the temperature probe can receive an infrared ray from
the eardrum.
Caution: Be careful when taking the temperature of a
child whose ear canal is small.
