• Tocompletelyshutoffpowertotheunit,turnthekeyswitchanti-
clockwise(STANDBY position),switchthemainspowerswitchatrear
of unit to OFF, and unplug the unit.
• WhentheSTANDBY/RUNkeyswitchisonSTANDBY,therecannotbe
powertothelaserdiode,butpowerisstillbeingsuppliedtothe
laser head for temperature control.
WARNING The internal circuit boardand piezoelectric transducers areat high
voltage during operation. The unit should not be operated with
covers removed.
CAUTION Although the CEL/CEX/CEFis designed and priced with the expecta-
tion that the end-usercan replace thediode and changethe align-
ment, some componentsarefragile. Inparticularthe filter, piezo
actuator,andoutputcouplerareveryeasilydamaged. Pleasetake
care of these items when working inside the laser.
Thefilterandoutputcouplerarehard-coatedandcanbecleaned
but great care is needed as with any intracavity laser optics.
NOTE MOGLabsproductsaredesignedforuseinscientificresearchlabora-
tories.Theyshouldnotbeusedforconsumerormedicalapplications.
Label identification
The InternationalElectrotechnicalCommissionlasersafetystandardIEC
60825-1:2007mandateswarninglabelsthatprovideinformation onthe
wavelength and power of emitted laser radiation, and which show the
aperturewherelaserradiationisemitted. Figure1showsexamplesof
theselabels, andfigures 2and 3show theirlocationontheCELlaserand
large-chassis CEX/CEFversion.
