BM03 - English - Molift Partner 230/255 - Rev. G/ 02/2008
Lift and transfer
The patient lifter may tip over if used incor-
rectly! Ignorance of warnings and instruc
-
tions may lead to personnel injury. Read in
-
structions carefully before attempting to lift
anyone.
The Molift PARTNER 255 has a Safe Work-
ing Load (SWL) on 255 kg / 562 lbs, mean
-
ing that it is tested and approved for lifting of
patients up to 255 kg. The Molift Partner 230
with SWL 230 kg / 507 lbs, lifts patients up to
230 kg.
Several factors have to be considered during move-
ment of the lifter:
• the user shall sit as low as possible facing the
lifting column
• the user should rest their feet on the chassis
Stand to the side of the user when lifting. Ensure that
arms and legs are clear of the lift, chair, bed etc. Try
to maintain eye contact with the user - this will help
the user feel safe and comfortable.
Pay close attention to your actions. Ensure
that all four loops of the sling are securely
fastened to avoid the user slipping or falling
Use the drive handles when manouvring the
lifter, do not push or pull the patient, suspen
-
sion or lifting arm.
Do not touch the underside of chassis or bet-
ween chassis and legs when monouvring the
legs.
Molift slings shall ONLY be used to lift per-
sons. NEVER use the sling to lift and/or move
objects of any kind.
Molift Partner 230/255 should not be run
constantly for more than 10 min during 1
hour.
Safety precautions
General
Before putting a Molift Partner 230/255 into opera-
tion, the operator must ensure that the lifter and ac-
cessories are in good working order, especially with
regards to safety. The lifter must be taken out of
service immediately, or not returned to use, if faults
and/or irregularities that may have inuence on the
safety are discovered.
A Molift Partner 230/255 shall only be used when
all safety devices and equipment is in place and ful-
ly operational.
The lifter is designed for indoor use in room
temperature, +10 to +40 °C. This should be
taken into consideration when transporting
the lifter, and therefore keeping it in a tem
-
perate part of the vehicle. Alternatively, the
lifter must rest in a temperate room until the
equipment has achieved proper working tem
-
perature.
The lifter has an expected lifetime of 10 years
or 30 000 lifts with max load (SWL), when all
recommended service is performed.
If defects or faults occur
The lifter must be switched off immediately if one
of the following conditions occur;
• damage to electrical devices or cables, or damage
to parts of electrical insulation
• damage or failure on safety devices
If the lifting movement does not start when
the corresponding button is pressed, please
consult the fault finding table in the mainte
-
nance chapter to locate the fault.

Partner 230/255 is used in an incorrect manner and
if:
• covers are removed by unauthorised personnel
• used incorrectly
• insufcient maintenance
• load exceeds maximum limit, stated as SWL in
this manual and on the lifter.
