SEQUENCER (Continued)
NOTE TRIG (ON/LIT, OFF/UNLIT)
The Note Trigger function sets up an alternate play mode for controlling
the sequence playback. When the NOTE TRIG button is On, the
sequence will begin as soon as one (or more) keys are pressed; playback
will stop when all keys have been released. This can be an excellent
performance tool.
NOTE: The Note Trigger play method and the Start/Stop play method are
mutually exclusive; selecting one will disable the other.
STEP EDIT (ON/LIT, OFF/UNLIT)
Pressing the STEP EDIT button opens the Step Edit screen in the Center Console Display; the button
will remain lit. Press the HOME button on the Front Panel to exit the Step Edit mode.
ENTERING NOTE DATA (STEP EDIT MODE)
Notes entered into the Sequencer are displayed in a grid, where each column represents one step of
the sequence, and each row (lane) shows the note assigned to each step. Each lane can be thought of
as monophonic, so adding more lanes allows more notes to be assigned to each step. Each Sequence
can be up to 64 steps in length, which is shown on the Step Edit screen, and indicated on the Front
Panel as four pages of sixteen steps each. The exact number of steps is determined by the LENGTH
parameter in the Sequencer MORE page.
BEGINNING WITH AN EMPTY
SEQUENCE
The active Synth may or may not already
have data stored in the Sequencer. When
you press the STEP EDIT button on
the Front Panel and see the following
screen, this is a good indication that the
Sequencer is empty and awaiting new
data.
If there is already data present in the
Sequencer, you can clear the existing
data and start with a clean slate. Open
the Sequencer MORE page by pressing
the triangular MORE button located in the upper right corner of the Sequencer module on the Front
Panel. When the MORE page opens, press the CLEAR SEQUENCE Soft Button at the top of screen to
initialize the Sequencer and remove all data from the active Sequence.
NOTE: Pressing SHIFT + DELETE while the top (step number) row is selected on the STEP EDIT page
will also clear the entire current sequence.
