18.1. Temperature of Hydraulic Fluid
The tank temperature of the operating fluid must not exceed the pump temperature by more
than 25 °C. If the temperature of the operating fluid in the tank exceeds the pump temperature by
more than 25 °C, the pump should only be switched on in short intervals of 1 to 2 seconds until it
has heated up.
For more information see:
Chap. 12.6 Supplemental Documentation
19 Maintenance
The radial piston pump is basically free of maintenance.
due to electrostatic discharge!
Electrostatic discharges and sparking can occur due to cleaning the radial piston pump
from deposits and from dust.
In hazardous location, only the usage of a suitable cleansing material and a
suitable cleaning method is allowed.
In case of cleaning the pumps standard EN 13463-1, paragraph 6.7.5 has to be
fulfilled.
Danger of explosion!
Danger of explosion due to impermissible heating up of the radial piston pump!
Before commissioning and operation, the pump must be filled inside completely
with hydraulic fluid. Filling the pump via the drain port.
During operation the suction of hydraulic fluid only must be guaranteed!
Therefore the usage of applicable monitoring devices is recommended.
See, Chapt.
Chap. 13.3 Obligations for Safe Operation
To avoid damage of the pump and to guarantee safe operation in hazardous areas:
Observe the fluid temperature and the temperature of the pump and follow the
instructions of the user manual.
Chap. 18.1 Temperature of hydraulic fluid
To guarantee safe operation in hazardous areas:
Repair and maintenance of radial piston pumps or to accessories may only be
made by MOOG GmbH or by an authorized MOOG service center.
Intervention by third parties will invalidate the ATEX certification.
