5.2
Modifying the Image Capture Timing
Prerequisites:Depending on the speed of the vehicle and camera placement, the timing between
image captures you may need to shorten the timing to accommodate a proper license plate image
capture. Refer to the following table for different timings based on the posted speed limit.
Table 4: Speed Limit Timing Offset
Posted Speed Limit Timing Offset
40+ MPH 0.2–0.4 seconds
30–40 MPH 0.4–0.6 seconds
20–30 MPH 0.6–0.8 seconds
< 20 MPH 0.8 seconds
NOTICE: The default timing value is 0.4 seconds. This value can be set in increments of 0.2
seconds from 0.2 seconds up to 1.0 second. If the third image of the vehicle is out of frame,
reduce this number.
Procedure:
1 At the bottom of the screen, tap Camera.

2 Select the appropriate camera from the list.
3 To open camera settings, tap Settings.
4 Tap Motion Events.
5 Modify the Time between pictures as needed to capture more images of the vehicle plate per
motion event.
