3.6.2SilentEmergencyMode

TheSilentEmergencyModeisatypeofemergencyservicesthatprovidesnoaudibleindicationsandnokeypad

tonesattheentrance.Allthedisplayindicationsareasintheidlemode.However,theradiocannotuseany

servicesexceptfor:

•ReceivingAmbienceListening

•SendingSilentEmergencyAlarms

•SendingGPSlocationreports

Ifyoutrytoactivateanyotherfeature,itisblockedandnoindicationisdisplayed.

IftheSilentEmergencyfeatureisenabled,theradioentersSilentEmergencyModeonpressingtheEMERGENCY

button.AfterenteringtheSilentEmergencyMode,theradioguaranteesitselftobeinTMOMode.Theradio

staysinTMOModeorswitchestoit,dependingontheactualstate.OnceinTMOMode,theradiosendsSilent

EmergencyAlarm.

Iftheradioisinaprivateorgroupcall,theradiowaitsuntilthecallendsandthenenterstheSilent

EmergencyMode.

Theradiokeepsre-sendingthealarmuntilsuccessfulsendingisconrmed.Afterthealarmissuccessfullydelivered,

theradiostaysinSilentEmergencyModeandwaitsfortheAmbienceListening.Onpressingthe

EMERGENCY

buttonagain,whilebeingintheSilentEmergencyMode,theradiosendstheSilentEmergencyAlarm(anddoesnot

provideanyaudibleorvisibleindications).

YourradioexitstheSilentEmergencyMode,underthefollowingconditions:

•PressMENUandthen#keywithin3seconds.

•NosuccessinsendingtheSilentEmergencyAlarmandthemaximumnumberofretrieshasbeenreached.

•ThecontrolroomterminatestheSilentAmbienceListening.

•TheAmbienceListeningisdisconnectedduetoanotherreason.

IfyouturnofftheradiointheSilentEmergencyMode,theradioswitchestopseudopoweroffstate.Inthisstate,the

radioappearstobeturnedoff.However,theradioisstillonandintheSilentEmergencyMode.Onturningtheradio

onduringthepseudopoweroffstate,theradioactsasduringturningonandstillisintheSilentEmergencyMode.

3.6.3EmergencyGroupCall

WhileintheEmergencyMode,youareabletoinitiateandreceiveanEmergencyGroupCall.Thisspecialcallis

initiatedbypressingthe

EMERGENCYbutton.

IfaradioreceivesanincomingGroupCallwithemergencypriority,thedisplayshowsthatanEmergencyGroupCall

hasbeenreceived,andaspecialaudioalertisplayed.YourradioautomaticallyswitchestotheEmergencyMode.

TheaudioforanEmergencyGroupCallalwaysgoesthroughthespeaker(highaudio),evenifthelowaudio

isselected.

AnEmergencyGroupCallcanbeconguredas:

•Non-tactical—callonatalkgrouppredenedbyyourserviceprovider.Thegroupmightbedifferentthan

theoneselectedinitially.Afterexitingfromnon-tacticalEmergencyModetheradioisattachedtothegroup
