TheAlternatingHotMicrophoneisanenhancementoftheHotMicrophonefeature.ItallowsyoutohavetheHot
Microphoneswitchedonandoffalternately.
Ifthisfeatureisenabled,youcaninitiatetheAlternatingHotMicrophonebypressingtheEMERGENCYbutton.
TheAlternatingHotMicrophoneterminateswhenoneofthefollowingconditionsismet:
•TheradioexitstheEmergencyMode.
•TheAlternatingHotMicrophonetimerexpires.
•ThePTTbuttonispressed.
•EndSOFTkeyispressed(onlyduringtransmissiontimeslot).
Toskipyourtransmissiontimeslotandjumptoareceivingtimeslot,pressENDkey.
Whentheradiogoesoutoftheservice,itentersthereceivingmodeandtheAlternatingHotMicrophone
isonhold.Whentheradioisbacktotheservice,theHotMicrophonetransmissionandtheAlternating
HotMicrophoneresume.
WhentheuserisintheEmergencyMode,pressingEMERGENCYbuttonrestartstheAlternatingHot
Microphone.

PressandholdtheEMERGENCYbuttonorentertheEmergencynumberandpressSENDkeytoenterthe
EmergencyMode.
TherequiredtimeyouneedtopresstheEMERGENCYbuttonissetto0.5second(bydefault).The
timecanbeconguredbyyourserviceprovider.
UponentryintoEmergencyModeanyexistingcallorserviceotherthanpacketdataserviceisabortedorcleared
down.IntheEmergencyMode,theradioautomaticallyrejectsprivatecalls.TheradioremainsinEmergency
Modeuntilyouexitit.
