GPS Troubleshooting (Sheet 1)
Move GPS antenna into an
area with a "clear view" to sky.

Failure: No position fix after 15minutes!

Disconnect the GPS cable from
the radio and measure the DC
voltage applied to the inner
conductor of the RF cable.

Open GPS cover and check visually
the voltage regulators U1 and its
associated components (including
L1, and R12)
Are U1 and its
associated components
fitted properly?
Yes

Does 5.5V DC
apply to the inner
conductor of the
RF cable?
Measure the DC
voltage at U1 Pin 4
See Sheet 2
Replace the missing or
defect component.
No
13V DC at U1
Pin 4 (@nominal
battery voltage of

cable properly
connected to the

Re-connect the
