Why can't my Motorola Handhelds find Bluetooth devices?
    • A
      Alexandria DickersonSep 5, 2025
Your Motorola Handhelds device might not be able to find Bluetooth devices nearby due to the following reasons: you might be too far from other Bluetooth devices (move closer to the other Bluetooth device(s), within a range of 10 meters), the Bluetooth device(s) nearby are not turned on (turn on the Bluetooth device(s) you wish to find), or the Bluetooth device(s) are not in discoverable mode (set the Bluetooth device(s) to discoverable mode; if needed, refer to the device’s user documentation for help).

What to do if my Motorola MC909X Handhelds battery is not recharging?
    • R
      Ryan PughNov 21, 2025
If your Motorola Handhelds battery isn't recharging, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure you're leaving the mobile computer in the cradle long enough, as it can take up to four hours to recharge a completely depleted battery pack if the mobile computer is suspended, or even longer if the mobile computer is on. You can view the battery status by tapping Start > Settings > System tab > Power icon for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices, or Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power icon for WinCE 5.0 devices. Another reason might be a faulty battery, so verify if other batteries charge properly. If so, replace the faulty battery. Finally, check if the mobile computer is correctly inserted into the cradle; remove it and reinsert it correctly, then verify that charging is active via the bat...

What does the Motorola MC909X message 'Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address' mean?
    • S
      sosasherrySep 18, 2025
The warning message “! Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network Settings” on your Motorola Handhelds occurs if a suspend/resume cycle is performed and the mobile computer radio is not associated (e.g. due to being out of range). Tap OK to close the message. The mobile computer will obtain address information and communicate through the ethernet cradle.

    Kelly SmithSep 16, 2025
Why is data transmission failing on Motorola MC909X?
    • K
      kellymillerSep 16, 2025
During communications, if no data was transmitted, or transmitted data was incomplete on your Motorola Handhelds, it may be because the mobile computer was removed from cradle during communications (replace mobile computer in cradle and retransmit) or the mobile computer has no active connection (an icon will be visible in the status bar if a connection is currently active).

Why did the ActiveSync attempt by the Motorola Handhelds fail?
    • D
      Diane MccannSep 14, 2025
The attempt by the Motorola Handhelds to ActiveSync failed because ActiveSync over an Ethernet connection is not available with Microsoft Mobile 5.0 or Microsoft CE 5.0 and ActiveSync 4.1.

Why is there no sound on my Motorola Handhelds?
    • C
      catherinejonesSep 13, 2025
There may be no audible sound on your Motorola Handhelds because the volume setting is low or turned off, or the unit may be a beeper only unit or incorrect Config Block is programmed into device.

How to connect Motorola MC909X Handhelds to a Bluetooth phone if it remembers the old device?
    • M
      Melissa HansonSep 12, 2025
If, when trying to connect a Bluetooth phone and your Motorola Handhelds, the phone thinks a different mobile computer (that you previously paired with the phone) is being used, it is because the phone remembers the name and address of the mobile computer it last paired with via the Bluetooth radio. Manually delete the pairing device and name from the phone. Refer to the phone’s user documentation for instructions.

Why won't my Motorola Handhelds turn on?
    • L
      Luis AllenAug 21, 2025
Your Motorola Handhelds device might not be turning on due to several reasons: the lithium-ion battery may not be charged (charge or replace it), the battery may not be installed properly (ensure it is correctly installed), or the system may have crashed (perform a warm boot; if that doesn't work, try a cold boot).
