Switching Modes
Procedure:
To switch between the Two-Way and Weather modes, press the Mode button.
When the radio is in Two-Way mode, the TWO-WAY icon is displayed.
When the radio is in Weather mode, the WEATHER icon is displayed.
Corresponding settings and information are shown on the display.

Talking and Listening
This chapter provides information on how to use your radio for communication.
Prerequisites:
Ensure that all radios in your group are set to the same channel and are on the same Interference
Eliminator Code.
Procedure:
1 To talk, press and hold the PTT button.
When transmitting, your radio displays the following indicators:
The radio displays Tx icon.
The TWO-WAY icon blinks.
If it is a high power transmission, the Hi icon is displayed.
If it is a low power transmission, the Lo icon is displayed.
Screen times out except for the Tx, Hi, or Lo, and battery icons. These icons remain lit until
the PTT button is released.
2 To listen, release the PTT button.
When receiving, your radio displays the following indicators:
The radio displays Rx icon.
The TWO-WAY icon blinks.
If it is a high power channel, the Hi icon is displayed.
If it is a low power channel, the Lo icon is displayed.
NOTE: Hold the radio one inch away from your mouth and speak directly into the
microphone for maximum clarity. Do not cover the microphone while speaking.
NOTE: Your radio is designed to maximize the performance and improve the
transmission range. Do not use radios closer than five feet apart.
