Why does my Mountfield Lawn Mower engine stop?
    • E
      Emily MartinAug 12, 2025
The engine may stop because the electronic circuit board is blocked. This could be due to disconnected earth connections of the microswitches, a flat battery, a badly connected battery (poor contact), or the engine being badly earthed. To resolve this, turn the ignition key to the «STOP» position and check the connections, recharge the battery, and check the engine earth connection.

    • C
      Christopher GreenAug 16, 2025
If the starter motor runs but the engine doesn't start, the issue may be a faulty fuel supply or ignition. Check the fuel level in the tank, inspect the fuel filter, ensure the spark plug cap is securely fitted, and verify that the electrodes are clean and have the correct gap.

    • D
      darlenehouseAug 20, 2025
Difficult starting or erratic engine performance could be due to a fault in carburetion. Try cleaning or replacing the air filter, flushing out the float chamber, emptying the fuel tank and refilling with fresh fuel, and checking and replacing the fuel filter if necessary.

How to fix uneven mowing and poor grass collection with my Mountfield MJ 66?
    • L
      landryamyAug 23, 2025
Uneven mowing and poor grass collection can occur if the cutting-means assembly is not parallel to the ground, the cutting means are inefficient, the forward speed is too high compared to the height of the grass, the collector channel is blocked, or the cutting-means assembly is full of grass. Check the tyre pressure, reinstate the alignment of the cutting-means assembly in relation to the ground, reduce the forward speed and/ or raise the cutting-means assembly, wait for the grass to dry, remove the grass catcher and empty the collector channel, and clean the cutting-means assembly.

How to troubleshoot if my Mountfield Lawn Mower starter motor does not run with the key on START?
    • M
      Megan OneillAug 27, 2025
If the starter motor does not run with the key on «START», the electronic circuit board may be blocked due to a flat battery, a blown fuse, bad earthing to the engine or the frame, disconnected earth connections of the microswitches, a badly earthed starter motor, or starting conditions have not been met. Turn the ignition key to «STOP» position and check the connections of black earth leads, recharge the battery, replace the fuse (10 A), and check that the conditions allowing the start are met.

    • C
      clarkhannahAug 31, 2025
