whenshootinginrainyandfoggyweatherwherecloseinwaterdropletsintheaircouldcause

targetsanywherefrom200feetoutto
themaximumrangesetti ng.Theweathermodeicon()willappearontheHomescreenandinthe
HUD,ifenabled.

ThisbuttonwillentertheUnitTest(dailytest)mode(Figure10)wherethelaserdistancecanbe
checkedagainstaknowndistanceandthereticlecanbecheckedforaccuracy.

7.1.1.8.1 DifferentialDistanceUnitTest
Thedifferentialdistanceunittestisusedtoconfirmtheaccuracyofthedistancemeasurements.For
thistestyouwillmeasurethedistancetotwoknownobjectsthatareaknowndistanceapart.When
youhavemeasuredbothrangesfromyourposition,thedistancedifferencewill
bedisplayedonthe
screen.Verifythisdistancematchestheknowndistanceitshouldregister.Forthistestyouwillneedto
trytoalignthelaserinlinewiththetwotargetssotherewillbenooffsetangleerror.
IMPORTANT:Alldistancemeasurementsaremaderelativetothe
frontoftheSureShot,whichisthe
referenceplane.
7.1.1.8.2 HorizontalReticleAlignmentUnitTest
ThistestisusedtoconfirmthereticleintheHUDisproperlyalignedinthehorizontaldirection.Forthis
test,locateadistantpoleorobjectwithopenskybehind.Youwillpullthe
triggeronthelaserasyou
sightthepoleinyourHUD.Asyousweepyourreticlefromsidetosideacrossthepole,youshouldsee
thechangeindistancejumpasyouexitoffthepoletotheleftandright.
7.1.1.8.3 VerticalReticleAlignmentUnitTest
This
testisusedtoconfirm thereticleintheHUDisproperlyalignedintheverticaldirection .Forthis
test,simplyrotatethelaser90degreesineitherdirectionthenrepeatthehorizontalreticlealignment
unittestsweepingfromlefttoright.
