8.9.2 Fuel prefilter – Differential pressure gage check and adjustment
Preconditions
Both filters are cut in
DANGER
Components are moving or rotating.
Risk of crushing, danger of parts of the body being caught or pulled in!
Operate the engine at low load only. Keep clear of the danger zone of the engine.
WARNING
High level of engine noise when the engine is running.
Risk of damage to hearing!
Wear ear protectors.
Adjusting differential pressure
gage
Note: Repeat the procedure whenever the filter ele-
ments have been replaced.
1. Pull out stop knob (5) and slowly turn rotary
valve (4) into the upright position until it en-
gages.
Note: The adjustment procedure should be per-
formed under normal load conditions.
2. Align adjustable pointer (3) with pressure-in-
dicating pointer (2) of pressure gage (1).
Fuel prefilter – Differential pressure check
1. Read off and record differential pressure at pressure gage (1).
Note: The differential pressure rises steadily as the active filter becomes gradually more and more contaminated.
2. Check the filter, fuel delivery system and the fuel if the pressure increases suddenly compared with the
record.
Flush the filter elements (→ Page 122) if the differential pressure between adjustable pointer (2) and pres-
sure indicating pointer (3) is ≥ 0.3 bar.
