5.8 Starting the engine
Preconditions
External start interlock is not activated.
Emergency air-shutoff flaps (if applicable) open.
DANGER
Rotating and moving engine parts.
Risk of crushing, danger of parts of the body being caught or pulled in!
Before cranking the engine with starter system, make sure that there are no persons in the engine's
danger zone.
WARNING
High level of engine noise when the engine is running.
Risk of damage to hearing!
Wear ear protectors.
NOTICE
Re-starting the engine following an automatic safety shutdown.
Risk of severe engine damage!
Before starting the engine, make sure the root cause of the safety shutdown was eliminated.
If the root cause cannot be identified or eliminated, contact Service.
The engine can be started from the following points
