Overview

The Mueller Ultra Compact Portable Countertop Dishwasher (MODEL: DW-600) is designed to provide efficient dishwashing in a compact form factor, suitable for households with limited space. It offers a range of wash cycles and features aimed at simplifying daily dish cleaning.

Function Description:

This appliance is a portable countertop dishwasher that automatically washes dishes using specialized detergents and rinse aids. It is designed for household use and is not intended for commercial dishwashing. The dishwasher connects to a water supply and drainage system, and it features a control panel for selecting wash programs, setting delay functions, and activating a child lock. It is capable of handling various types of food remnants and soiling levels, from lightly soiled items to heavily burned-on food. The unit ensures proper water drainage and includes a filter system to maintain cleanliness and prevent blockages.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Outline Size: W 21.6 x H 17.7 x D 21.6 inches (550 x 450 x 550 mm)
  • Water Pressure: 5.8 – 145 PSI
  • Inlet Water Temperature: ≤ 120°F
  • Nominal Voltage: 120V
  • Frequency: 60Hz
  • Rated Power: 870W
  • Waterproof: IPX1
  • Capacity: 6 Place Settings + 6 Serving Pieces

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features buttons for Power, Delay Start/Child Lock, Program Selection, and Start/Pause. Indicators for Lock, Rinse Aid, and Faucet are also present, along with a digital display showing program status and time.
  • Wash Cycles: Includes five distinct programs:
    • Eco: For part-dried, common household food remnants (Cycle Time: 2:25). Recommended to add 1/2 detergent powder directly into the interior and 1/2 into the dispenser for better results.
    • Normal: For little dried, normal household food remnants (Cycle Time: 1:10).
    • Intensive: For very adhesive burned-on or dried-on food remnants (Cycle Time: 2:10).
    • Glass: For slightly adhesive, temperature-sensitive plastic and glasses (Cycle Time: 1:40).
    • Rapid: For fresh food remnants, light and less oil (Cycle Time: 0:25). Detergent is not necessary for this program.
  • Detergent Dispenser: Requires specialized dishwasher detergents. It is crucial to add detergent just before starting a wash cycle to prevent it from getting wet and not dissolving properly. The dispenser is designed for both powder and tablet/pod detergents.
  • Rinse Aid Dispenser: Automatically releases rinse aid during the final rinse to prevent water spots and streaks, improving drying performance. The amount of rinse aid released can be adjusted (default setting is 3). An indicator light on the display panel illuminates when refilling is needed.
  • Loading Guidelines: Emphasizes proper loading for optimal performance, including scraping off large food amounts, placing items face down or at a slant for drainage, ensuring items do not tip over or obstruct spray arms, and avoiding overloading. Sharp objects should be placed with points downwards or horizontally.
  • Child Lock: Prevents unintentional program termination or door opening. Activated by holding the Delay/Child lock button for 3 seconds until "Lock" illuminates on the display. Deactivated by holding the same button until the "Lock" light turns off.
  • Delay Function: Allows users to delay the start of the dishwasher by 1 to 24 hours, adjustable in one-hour increments.
  • Pause Function: The wash cycle can be paused by pressing the Start/Pause button or by opening the door during operation. The cycle resumes when the door is closed.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Cleaning: The exterior and rubber parts can be cleaned with a soft wash cloth and warm soapy water. For interior stains or streaks, a soft wash cloth dampened with water and a little white vinegar, or a cleaning product specifically made for dishwashers, can be used.
  • Door Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth with warm water to clean the edges around the door. Avoid using spray cleaners on the door lock and electrical components.
  • Filter System: The filter system, located in the base of the wash cabinet, must be cleaned regularly (recommended once a week) to prevent food particles from trapping and spray arm jet blockages. The filter assembly can be rotated counterclockwise and lifted for removal, then rinsed under running water. The stainless steel filter should also be removed and cleaned.
  • Spray Arms Cleaning: The spray arms can be easily removed by grasping the middle and pulling upwards. They should be washed under running water to prevent clogging and limescale buildup. If water holes are blocked, a thin wire can be used to clear them.
  • Frost Protection: During winter months, specific procedures should be followed after each wash to protect against freezing: turn off the dishwasher, disconnect the water inlet hose, drain water from the inlet hose and port, reconnect the inlet hose, and absorb any remaining water in the sump with a sponge.
  • Storage Preparation: Before storing, it is recommended to run an empty wash cycle, disconnect power, turn off the water supply, remove water from the sump, and leave the door slightly open to prevent odors and prolong door seal life.
  • Moving the Dishwasher: When moving the appliance, it should be kept in an upright position; never position it on its side or upside down.

Safety Instructions:

The manual emphasizes several safety precautions, including proper installation, electrical grounding, avoiding extension cords, and not using the appliance for purposes other than its intended use. It warns against operating the dishwasher with missing or broken parts, obstructing openings, or tampering with controls. Special attention is given to the safe handling of sharp utensils and the use of appropriate detergents. Users are advised not to open the door during operation due to steam and to allow hot utensils to cool before removal. Children should be supervised to prevent them from playing with the appliance.
