What to do if my Napoleon BIPRO500RBSS-3 Grill has excessive flare-ups and uneven heat?
    • S
      Shelley LopezAug 20, 2025
If you're experiencing excessive flare-ups or uneven heat on your Napoleon Grill, make sure the sear plates are correctly installed with the holes towards the front and the slots on the bottom. Proper preheating, with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes, is also important. Regularly clean the sear plates and drip pan, avoiding aluminum foil lining. Refer to the cleaning instructions for guidance.

Why won't the burners cross light on my Napoleon BIPRO500RBSS-3?
    • J
      John GardnerAug 22, 2025
There are several reasons why the burners on your Napoleon Grill might not cross light. It could be due to a dead or incorrectly installed battery. Try replacing it with a premium heavy-duty battery. Another cause could be loose electrode or switch terminal wires. Ensure the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter and that the lead wires from the module to the ignition switch (if equipped) are firmly attached to their terminals. Also, lifting flames on the burner may be the reason. In this case close air shutter according to 'Maintenance Instructions'- Combustion Air Adjustment section in this Owner’s Manual. IMPORTANT! This must be done by a qualified gas installer.

Why does my Napoleon BIPRO500RBSS-3 Grill have low heat even when the valve is on high?
    • M
      Matthew PetersAug 25, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill has low heat or flame, especially when the valve is on high, several factors could be responsible. For propane, ensure you're following the correct lighting procedure, turning the tank on slowly to equalize pressure, with all gas grill valves in the off position. For natural gas, the supply line might be undersized, requiring proper sizing according to the installation code. For both gas types, ensure you preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes.

Why do the burners on my Napoleon Grill burn with a yellow flame?
    • J
      James WaltersAug 26, 2025
If the burners on your Napoleon Grill burn with a yellow flame and a gas smell, it's possibly due to a spider web or debris, or improper air shutter adjustment. Thoroughly clean the burner after removing it, following the general maintenance instructions. A qualified gas installer should slightly open the air shutter according to combustion air adjustment instructions.

What to do if my Napoleon Grill burners light with a match but not igniter?
    • K
      Kristen LewisAug 28, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill burners light with a match but not the igniter, it could be due to a dirty or clogged JETFIRETM outlet. Try cleaning the JETFIRETM outlet with a soft bristle brush. Another possible cause is dirty or corroded cross light brackets, so clean or replace them as needed.

What to do if the infrared burner flashes back on my Napoleon BIPRO500RBSS-3 Grill?
    • J
      Jasmin Rios MDAug 29, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill's infrared burner flashes back, creating a loud 'whoosh' and dimming, it's likely due to grease build-up on the ceramic tiles or clogged ports. Other potential causes include overheating from inadequate ventilation, cracked ceramic tiles, or leaks in the gasket or burner housing. To resolve this: * Turn the burner off and let it cool for at least two minutes. * Relight it and burn on high for five minutes, until the tiles glow red evenly. * Make sure no more than 75% of the grill surface is covered. If cracks are present, contact your Napoleon dealer for a replacement burner assembly.

Why does “paint” appear to be peeling inside the lid of my Napoleon BIPRO500RBSS-3 Grill?
    • G
      Gilbert HuntAug 31, 2025
If you see what looks like peeling paint inside the lid or hood of your Napoleon Grill, don't worry, it's not a defect. The finish is porcelain and won't peel. This is hardened grease that has dried into paint-like shards. Regular cleaning, as described in the cleaning instructions, will prevent this.

    • S
      Susan HudsonSep 3, 2025
If the flames on your Napoleon Grill lift away from the burner, accompanied by a gas smell and lighting difficulties, the air shutter adjustment is likely incorrect. A qualified gas installer should slightly close the air shutter, following combustion air adjustment instructions.

Why don't the lights and side/rear burner ignition work on my Napoleon Grill?
    • E
      eleeSep 5, 2025
If the illumination and side/rear burner ignition on your Napoleon Grill do not work, the grill may not be receiving electric power. Check for a power outage in your area, ensure the grill is properly connected to the power, verify the red indicator is ON in the control box, and check if the fuse on the wire in the cabinet is broken.
