      If carbon is depositing on the glass, burner media, or combustion chamber surfaces of your Napoleon Indoor Fireplace, there might be a blockage in the vent. Remove any blockage. In very cold conditions, ice buildup may occur on the terminal and should be removed. To prevent this in the future, wrap vent lengths passing through unheated spaces with an insulated mylar sleeve. Also, ensure the air shutter opening is free of lint or other obstructions. Incorrect installation or over/under-firing of the unit could also be the cause, so refer to the venting section to ensure correct location of storm collars and check pressure readings: Inlet pressure can be checked by turning screw (A) counter-clockwise 2 or 3 turns and then placing pressure gauge tubing over the test point.
