Why is there low heat on my Napoleon LEX 605 Grill when the valve is on high?
    • J
      Joel WigginsJul 27, 2025
Low heat or flame on your Napoleon Grill, when the valve is turned to high, can be due to several reasons. If you are using propane, it might be due to an improper lighting procedure. For natural gas, it could be an undersized supply line. For both gas types, improper preheating could be the cause. To resolve this, ensure the lighting procedure is followed carefully, with all gas grill valves in the off position when the tank valve is turned on, and turn the tank on slowly to allow pressure to equalize. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. For a natural gas grill, make sure the pipe is sized according to the installation code.

What to do if my Napoleon Grill has excessive flare-ups or uneven heat?
    • J
      Jennifer LaneAug 1, 2025
Excessive flare-ups or uneven heat in your Napoleon Grill can be caused by sear plates installed incorrectly, improper preheating, or excessive grease and ash build-up on the sear plates and in the drip pan. Make sure that the sear plates are installed with the holes towards the front and the slots on the bottom. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean the sear plates and drip pan regularly, and do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

What to do if the infrared burner on my Napoleon LEX 605 Grill flashes back?
    • J
      Joseph ContrerasAug 5, 2025
If the infrared burner on your Napoleon Grill flashes back, accompanied by a loud 'whoosh' sound and a dimming flame, it could be due to ceramic tiles overloaded with grease, clogged ports, overheating from inadequate ventilation, cracked ceramic tiles, or a leaking gasket. Turn the burner off and let it cool for at least two minutes. Relight it and burn on high for at least five minutes, or until the ceramic tiles are evenly glowing red. Ensure that no more than 75% of the grill surface is covered. If cracks are found after cooling, contact your authorized Napoleon dealer to order a replacement burner assembly.

Why do the burners on my Napoleon LEX 605 burn with a yellow flame and smell of gas?
    • B
      bbarreraAug 10, 2025
A yellow flame accompanied by the smell of gas in your Napoleon Grill burners could be due to a possible spider web or other debris, or improper air shutter adjustment. To solve this, thoroughly clean the burner by removing it.

What causes peeling 'paint' inside the lid of my Napoleon Grill?
    • J
      javiercoxAug 16, 2025
The 'paint' that appears to be peeling inside the lid or hood of your Napoleon Grill is not a defect but is caused by hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards that flake off. Regular cleaning will prevent this.

What to do if the burners on my Napoleon LEX 605 Grill will not cross light each other?
    • W
      william33Aug 21, 2025
If the burners on your Napoleon Grill will not cross light each other, it is likely due to plugged ports at the back of the burner. Clean the burner ports to resolve this issue.
