If you smell exhaust fumes or experience headaches when using your Napoleon Indoor Fireplace, it indicates that the appliance is spilling. First, check the door seal to ensure it's properly sealed. Also, inspect for any exhaust damage and confirm that the venting is installed correctly. Why does the pilot spark but not light on my Napoleon Indoor Fireplace?
    • C
      Christina MillerAug 26, 2025
If the pilot sparks but won't light on your Napoleon Indoor Fireplace, first verify that the incoming gas line ball valve is 'open'. Also, ensure that the inlet pressure reading is within acceptable limits, not exceeding 13” W.C. (32.4mb). If you are using propane, check if the tank is empty and fill it if necessary. The pilot supply line may contain air, so repeat the ignition process several times or purge the pilot supply line. Ensure correct polarity of wiring of thermocouple (if equipped). Verify pilot assembly / valve are properly grounded. If equipped with a receiver, reset the program by holding the reset button on the receiver and wait for 2 beeps, then release after the second beep. Check the valve and replace if necessary, being careful not to overtighten the thermocouple.
