Why does white/grey film form on the glass of my Napoleon Indoor Fireplace?
    • R
      Russell McdanielAug 22, 2025
A white or grey film on the glass is likely sulphur from the fuel being deposited. Clean the glass with a recommended gas fireplace glass cleaner, but be sure not to clean the glass when it is hot. If sulphur deposits are not cleaned off regularly, the glass may become permanently marked.

If the battery holder (including switch) is in the “off” position but the burner comes on, the remote control and/or battery holder (including switch) may not be functioning properly. Try reversing it. It's also possible that the battery holder (including switch) is mounted upside down, in which case you should replace it. Check if the battery holder (including switch) and/or wire is grounding; repair the ground or replace the wire if necessary. Finally, a faulty wire may be the cause, so replace it if needed.
