WƌŽƚĞĐƟŽŶKĨ/ŶĨƌĂƌĞĚƵƌŶĞƌƐ dhe infrared burners of your grill are designed to proǀide a long serǀice
life, though care must taŬen to preǀent cracŬing of their ceramic surfaces. Fractures will cause the burners
to malfuncƟon. dhe following proǀides a few of the causes of cracŬs and the steps you can taŬe to aǀoid
them. Damage caused by failure to follow these steps is not coǀered by your grill warranty.
1. Impact with hard objects - Neǀer allow hard objects to striŬe the ceramic. daŬe care when inserƟng or re-
moǀing cooŬing grates and accessories into or from the grill.
2. Contact with water or other liquids - Cold liquids contacƟng the hot ceramic surfaces can cause them
to breaŬ. Neǀer throw water into the grill to douse a Ňame. If the ceramic or interior of a burner becomes
wet while not in use, later operaƟon of the burner can create steam, which can produce suĸcient pressure
to cracŬ the ceramic. Repeated soaŬing of the ceramic can also cause it to swell and edžpand. dhis edžpan-
sion causes undue pressure on the ceramic that can cause it to cracŬ and crumble.
iͿ Neǀer throw water into the grill to control Ňare-ups.
iiͿ Do not aƩempt to operate the infrared burners in open air while raining.
iiiͿ If you Įnd standing water in your grill ;because of edžposure to rainfall, sprinŬlers, etc.Ϳ, inspect
the ceramic for eǀidence of possible watersoaŬing. If the ceramic appears to be wet, remoǀe the burner
from the grill. durn it upside down to drain the edžcess water and bring indoors to dry thoroughly.
3. Impaired ǀenƟlaƟon of hot air from the grill - For the burners to funcƟon properly, hot air must haǀe a
way to escape the grill. If the hot air is not allowed to escape, the burners can become depriǀed of odžygen
causing
them to bacŬ-Ňash. If this occurs repeatedly, the ceramic could cracŬ. Neǀer coǀer more than 75й of
the cooŬ
ing surface with solid metal ;i.e., griddle or large panͿ.
4. Incorrect cleaning - Do not clean the ceramic Ɵle with a wire brush. If debris is collecƟng on your
burner, light the burner and operate on high for 5 minutes with the lid open, allowing debris to burn oī.
ƵƌŶĞƌ dhe burner is made from heaǀy wall 304 stainless steel, but edžtreme heat and a corrosiǀe enǀiron-
ment can cause surface corrosion to occur. dhis can be remoǀed with a brass wire brush.

Spiders and insects are aƩracted to the smell of propane and natural gas. dhe burner is equipped with an
insect screen on the air shuƩer, which reduces the liŬelihood of insects building nests inside the burner
but does not enƟrely eliminate the problem. A nest or web can cause the burner to burn with a soŌ yel-
low or orange Ňame or cause a Įre ;ŇashbacŬͿ at the air shuƩer underneath the control panel. do clean
the inside of the burner, it must be remoǀed from the gas grill Remoǀe the screw ;sͿ that aƩaches the
burner to the bacŬ wall. Slide the burner bacŬ and up wards to remoǀe. Cleaning hse a Ňedžible ǀenturi
tube brush to clean the inside of the burner. ShaŬe any loose debris from the burner through the gas inlet.
ChecŬ the burner ports and ǀalǀe oriĮces for blocŬages. Burner ports can close oǀer Ɵme due to cooŬing
debris and corrosion, use an opened paperclip or the supplied port maintenance bit to clean them. Drill
out blocŬed ports using this drill bit in a small cordless drill. dhe ports are easier to clean if the burner is
remoǀed from the grill, but it can also be done with the burner installed. Do not Ňedž the drill bit when
drilling the ports, as this will cause the drill bit to breaŬ. dhis drill is for burner ports only, not for the brass
oriĮces ;jets
Ϳ which regulate the Ňow into the burner. daŬe care not to enlarge the holes. Ensure the
insect screen is clean, Ɵght, and free of any lint or other debris.
ReinstallaƟon Reǀerse the procedure to reinstall the burner. ChecŬ that the ǀalǀe enters the burner when
installing. Replace sear plate mount and or Ɵghten screws to complete reinstallaƟon.
