Why does "paint" appear to be peeling inside the lid of my Napoleon Grill?
    • K
      Kim RiveraSep 23, 2025
The "paint" appearing to peel inside the lid or hood of your Napoleon Grill is not a defect. The finish on the lid and hood is stainless steel and will not peel. The peeling is caused by hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards that flake off. Regular cleaning will prevent this. Follow the cleaning instructions.

What to do if Napoleon Grill burner won't light with igniter?
    • W
      William TaylorAug 23, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill burner won't light with the igniter but lights with a match, several issues could be the cause. It could be due to a damaged or loose electrode wire. Check that the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter, or replace the electrode wire. The electrode might be cracked or broken, requiring replacement. Alternatively, the battery might be dead or installed incorrectly; replace it with a heavy-duty ‘AAA’ battery, installing it with the positive terminal up.

Why does my Napoleon PTSS215 Grill have excessive flare-ups and uneven heat?
    • D
      Danielle EllisAug 25, 2025
Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat on your Napoleon Grill can occur if the sear plate is installed incorrectly. Ensure the sear plate is installed with the holes towards the right end of the grill. Also, improper pre-heating can be a cause, so pre-heat the grill with the main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. Excessive grease and ash build-up on sear plates and in the drip pan may also lead to this problem. Clean the sear plate and drip pan regularly, and do not line the pan with aluminum foil. Refer to cleaning instructions.

    • K
      Kimberly StevensAug 27, 2025
Low heat or low flame on your Napoleon Grill when the valve is turned to high can be caused by several factors. There may be a blockage of gas, so check for spider webs in the burner or orifice. It could also be due to improper preheating; preheat the grill with the main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. Another cause could be a lack of gas, so check the gas level in the propane cylinder. Lastly, the supply hose could be pinched; reposition the supply hose as necessary.

Why is the burner output on my Napoleon Grill too low on the 'high' setting, with rumbling noise?
    • G
      graymichaelSep 16, 2025
If the burner output on your Napoleon Grill is too low on the 'high' setting, accompanied by a rumbling noise and fluttering blue flame, it could be due to a lack of gas, a pinched supply hose, a dirty or clogged orifice, spider webs in the venturi tube, other foreign matter, or a cracked ceramic tile. Check the gas level in the propane cylinder. Reposition the supply hose if necessary. Clean the burner orifice and the venturi tube. You can order a replacement burner from your Authorized Napoleon dealer.

How to fix low heat on Napoleon PTSS215 Grill?
    • R
      Richard JonesSep 6, 2025
To address a low heat or low flame issue on your Napoleon Grill when the valve is turned to high, first check for any blockages in the gas line, particularly spider webs within the burner or orifice. Ensure you are preheating the grill adequately by setting the main burners to high for 5 to 10 minutes. If the propane cylinder is freezing, replace it with a fresh 1 lb cylinder or connect to a larger 20 lb tank. Remember that 1 lb cylinders may struggle to vaporize liquid propane effectively during long cooking sessions, when nearly empty, or in cold weather due to insufficient wetted surface area.

Why does my Napoleon PTSS215 have low heat even on high?
    • J
      Jeffrey GardnerSep 3, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill isn't reaching high temperatures or has a low flame even when the valve is set to high, there might be a blockage of gas. Inspect the burner and orifice for spider webs. Also, ensure you preheat the grill with the main burners on high for 5 to 10 minutes. The issue could also stem from the cylinder freezing up; try replacing it with a fresh 1 lb cylinder or connecting to a 20 lb tank. If you are cooking for extended periods, using a nearly empty cylinder, or if the outside temperature is low, consider that 1 lb cylinders may lack sufficient wetted surface area for liquid propane to properly vaporize.
