Making a buttonhole on stretch
fabrics
015: For stretch or woven fabric
016: For stretch fabric
When sewing buttonholes on stretch fabric,
hook heavy thread or cord under the
buttonhole foot.
Attach the buttonhole foot. Bring the gimp
thread ends to the front of the foot and insert
them into the grooves, then tie them there
temporarily. Lower the presser foot lifter and
start sewing.
Set the stitch width to match the diameter of
the gimp thread.
Once sewing is completed, pull the gimp
thread gently to remove any slack. Cross the
gimp in front of the needle and thread gimp
ends into a large needle, pull to the wrong
side and knot ends before cutting excess.

It is suggested that you sew with a
stabiliser material under the fabric.
