IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should
always be observed including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces.
3. To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse power unit or any part of the
dehydrator cord or plug in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the unit to cool before
putting on or taking o parts.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner.
7. The use of accessory attachments is not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer; may cause hazards.
8. Sharp utensils should not be used inside the dehydrator.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not use outdoors. Always dehydrate indoors on a flat surface to allow sucient
airflow. Never place base on carpet, towel, newspaper, etc., which can block airflow to
the bottom of base and cause failure. Never cover entire unit with anything, as that will
cause failure. The dehydrator needs an open, breathable space to function properly.
11. Do not place on or near a gas or electric burner. Do not place on top of a glass top
stove or inside an oven.
12. Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.
13. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person resonsible for their safety.

Short Cord Instructions:
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or
extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer
detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used: 1) The marked electrical rating
of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of
the appliance; 2) If the appliance is the grounded 3-prong type plug, the extension cord
should also be a ground 3-prong plug; 3) The cord should be arranged so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped
over unintentionally.
