Installing a 2240-2 into a two-post rack
You can install your storage system in a two-post rack using a flush-mount or mid-mount installation. You use the two-post
telco tray kit for both installation types; for mid-mount installations you also use the mid-mount telco kit.
About this task
Your installation kit includes the following parts:
Two-post telco tray kit
One two-piece equipment tray with left and right halves that attach to the back of the equipment rack to support the back of
the storage system.
Mid-mount telco kit
Two mid-mount mounting brackets
Six M3.5 screws and star washers that attach the brackets to the sides of the storage system
Bagged screws in the following sizes for mounting the two-piece telco tray and mid-mount brackets to the rack:
16 M5-0.8 x 20 Pilot screws
16 M6-1 x 20 Pilot screws
16 10-32 x.75 Pilot screws
16 12-24 x.75 Pilot screws
Steps
1.
Determine which holes in the two-post rack you want to install the telco tray in using the rack alignment guide tool to ensure
that you are using the same holes on both posts of the rack.
2.
Align the left-post screw holes on the two-post rack with the screw holes on the left half of the telco tray, and then secure the
telco tray to the post with two of the appropriate size and type mounting screws matching the threading of your equipment
rack.
The following illustration is a rear view of a two-post rack with the telco trays.
