About high-speed Internet connections and
Internet port aggregation
Use the router’s yellow Internet port, which supports speeds up to 2.5 Gbps, to connect
the router to your modem.
The router’s Internet speed depends on the speed that your ISP offers and the speed
that your modem supports. For example, if your ISP and your modem both support a
speed of 2.5 Gbps, the router’s Internet speed is also 2.5 Gbps. However, if, for example,
your ISP supports a speed of 2.5 Gbps but your modem supports a speed of only 1
Gbps, your router’s Internet speed is limited to 1 Gbps.
If your ISP offers Internet speeds faster than 2.5 Gbps, your modem does not provide
a high-speed or multi-gigabit port, but your modem does support link aggregation, set
up Internet port aggregation by aggregating the yellow Internet port and Ethernet LAN
