Step One: Base Molding Assembly

Apply Glue to Base Molding Extrusion

Apply a small bead of glue inside the base molding extrusion before attaching trim pieces.

Attach Bottom Trim to Base Molding

Carefully place the bottom trim on one end of the base molding extrusion after applying glue.

Attach Top Trim Cap to Base Molding

Apply glue to the other end of the extrusion and place the top trim cap.

Set Base Moldings

Allow glued base moldings to set for 15 minutes before installation on the pergola.

Step Two: Post Extension Assembly

Apply Glue to Post Extension

Run a small bead of glue around the inside of the post extension as shown.

Insert Post Joiner

Carefully place the post joiner into the post extension after applying glue.

Set Post Extensions

Allow assembled post extensions to set for 15 minutes before pergola installation.

Step Three: Post Extension Installation

Identify Pergola Post Bottom

Locate the bottom of the pergola post, which typically has pre-routed holes.

Slide Base Molding Over Post

Slide the assembled base molding over the pergola post through the bottom side.

Attach Post Extension to Wooden Post

Fasten the post extension to the wooden post using sixteen screws, keeping them within the center 3" column.

Lower Base Molding

Lower the base molding to cover the post extension after securing it.
