What to do if my Nikon Digital Camera is on but does not respond?
    • T
      Thomas ShermanAug 16, 2025
If your Nikon Digital Camera is on but not responding, first wait for any recording to finish. If the issue continues, turn the camera off. If it still doesn't turn off, remove and reinsert the battery (or batteries). If you're using an AC adapter, disconnect and reconnect it. Note that while any data being recorded will be lost, previously recorded data will remain unaffected.

What to do if my Nikon Coolpix P1000 cannot focus?
    • T
      tclaytonAug 19, 2025
Your Nikon Digital Camera might fail to focus for several reasons. The subject may be too close—try using Scene auto selector, Close-up scene mode, or the macro close-up focus mode. The focus mode setting may be incorrect, so check and change it if needed. The subject itself may be difficult to focus on. In the setup menu, set AF assist to Auto. Ensure the subject is within the focus area when pressing the shutter-release button halfway. Check if the focus-mode selector is set to r (manual focus). Try turning the camera off and on again. Note that even on a tripod, slight camera movement can interfere with autofocus.

Why is my Nikon Coolpix P1000 turning off without warning?
    • C
      Carlos JacksonAug 22, 2025
Your Nikon Digital Camera might be turning off unexpectedly for several reasons: the auto-off function is activated to save power, the camera or battery may not be working correctly due to low temperatures, or the camera's internal temperature has become too high. If the camera has become hot, leave it off until it cools down, then try turning it on again.

    • D
      daniel06Aug 31, 2025
The monitor or viewfinder on your Nikon Digital Camera might be blank because the camera is off, the battery is exhausted, or the auto-off function has activated. Also, both the monitor and viewfinder can't be on at the same time, and it may take a moment to switch between them. The camera might also be connected to a TV or computer, or is in the process of interval timer shooting, Multiple exp. Lighten scene mode (when Star trails is set) shooting, time-lapse movie shooting, or capturing images with a long time-exposure using the Bulb setting or Time setting.

    • S
      Samantha MullinsSep 3, 2025

What does O flashing on the screen of my Nikon Coolpix P1000 mean?
    • S
      Sheila FrazierSep 9, 2025
If you see 'O' flashing on the screen of your Nikon Digital Camera, it indicates that the camera clock hasn't been set. Images and movies saved before setting the clock will be dated '00/00/0000 00:00' and '01/01/2018 00:00' respectively. To resolve this, set the correct time and date in the Time zone and date settings in the setup menu.
  • J
    James GordonSep 12, 2025
Why is the date not stamped on images even when Date stamp is enabled on my Nikon Coolpix P1000 Digital Camera?
    • D
      David HollowaySep 12, 2025
The date may not be stamped on your Nikon Digital Camera images even when Date stamp is enabled because the current shooting mode does not support Date stamp, a function that restricts the Date stamp function is enabled, or because you are trying to stamp a movie (the date cannot be stamped on movies).
