What to do if my Nikon COOLPIX P310 Digital Camera cannot be turned on?
K
Kathy CooperAug 22, 2025
If your Nikon Digital Camera won't turn on, the battery may be completely exhausted. Also, the camera will not turn on while connected to an electrical outlet via the Charging AC Adapter, or if the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover is open.

Why is my Nikon COOLPIX P310 not focusing?
H
Hannah RiversAug 23, 2025
If your Nikon Digital Camera is unable to focus, the subject may be too close; try using macro close-up in the focus mode, or Scene auto selector or Close-up scene mode. The autofocus might not work well with the subject. Ensure AF assist in the setup menu is set to Auto. Make sure the subject is within the focus area when you press the shutter-release button halfway. Check that the focus mode isn't set to manual focus. You can also try turning the camera off and then on again.

How to correct the date and time on my Nikon COOLPIX P310?
B
beth83Aug 27, 2025
If the date and time are incorrect on your Nikon Digital Camera photos, and the camera clock hasn't been set, still pictures will have a time stamp of “00/00/0000 00:00”, and movies will be dated “01/01/12 00:00.” Set the correct date and time using Time zone and date in the setup menu. Also, the camera clock is not as accurate as a normal clock, so check it regularly and reset as needed.

Why does my Nikon COOLPIX P310 Digital Camera turn off without warning?
R
Raymond ClaytonSep 1, 2025
Your Nikon Digital Camera might be turning off unexpectedly due to several reasons: The battery may be exhausted. If the camera sits idle, the auto-off feature might be kicking in to save power. Disconnecting the Charging AC Adapter or USB cable can also cause it to shut down. In some cases, overheating can cause the camera to turn off. Also, low temperatures can affect the camera and battery performance.

Why are my pictures too dark (underexposed) with my Nikon COOLPIX P310?
A
aaronlittleSep 2, 2025
If your pictures are coming out too dark, check if the flash is turned off. Make sure the flash window isn't blocked. The subject might be too far for the flash to reach. Try adjusting the exposure compensation or raising the ISO sensitivity. If the subject is backlit, raise the flash and set the scene mode to Backlighting with HDR set to Off, or set the flash mode to fill flash.
