1 DESCRIPTION
1.4 EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
1.4.1 Intended Usage
The Wollard Maintenance Lift, Model TML-704H, is designed to lift personnel,
tools, and materials to heights required for performing maintenance and other
tasks on aircraft and equipment. Refer to Section 3 for load capacities,
weights and sizes, elevating ranges, etc. It is not intended for passenger,
baggage or cargo lifting.
1.4.2 Main Chassis
The chassis is a welded-steel structure containing operator’s station, power
pack (engine package) and drive train, stabilizers, and independent hydraulic
system. Steering is powered by independent hydraulic system. The drive train
is conventional in design having a transmission, driveshaft, and dierential
that drive the rear wheels. The alternator/battery electrical system powers all
electrical requirements for the unit. The scissor lift, on which the platform is
mounted, is installed in special mounts and channels welded in the chassis
1.4.3 Scissors Assembly
The scissor assembly is made of inner and outer steel arms, with bronze
bearings in rear ends of the arms and cam rollers in the forward ends. These
rollers move in channels welded to the chassis and forward portion of
platform. The rear arm ends pivot in pins attached to the chassis and
platform. Both arm assemblies measure 202 inches (513 cm)) from bearing
to cam roller. They are connected in center by 1 3/4” diameter pivot pins with
castle nuts, washers, and cotter pins. Grease ttings are in all joint pins.
Saddles welded to both the inner and outer weldments will support a hydraulic
cylinder. The cylinder has a piston diameter of 5” (13 cm) and a 41” (104 cm)
stroke. Hydraulic power is supplied by the independent hydraulic system
installed in the truck chassis.
1.4.4 Work Platform Assembly
The work platform is a welded high-strength steel structure with an aluminum
Tread-Grip deck. Floor Height can be adjusted from a minimum of 4’-9” (1.4
m) to a maximum of 30 feet (9.1 m). It is approximately 17’-6” long by 6’-10”
wide inside. A cutout at front left corner measuring approximately 27 inches
(70 cm) wide by 54 inches (137 cm) makes room for the operator station
when the platform is lowered. Total working area is 109.25 sq/ft. Total working
load capacity is 2,000 lbs. (867 kg.) when uniformly distributed, or 250 lbs.
sq/ft. (122 kg/sq.m) when concentrated, not to exceed 500 lbs. at any one
place. Removable guardrails are installed around the perimeter for operator
safety. The guardrails can be removed in sections and stored upright around
the inside perimeter. (2) Safety Harness anchor points are provided on each
side. Pendant controls on platform duplicate the controls at operator station.
