2 OPERATION
• Start the booster vehicle and let it idle for several minutes, then start the
dead vehicle. If the vehicle fails to start in a normal manner, discontinue
jump starting and service the vehicle for other problems.
• Once the dead vehicle is running, disconnect the booster cables in the
reverse order they were installed.
• Never allow booster cable ends to touch while connected to a battery.
2.3.7 Manual Override Operation Using Emergency Pump
Figure 2
When operating manual overrides, vehicle power steering will
still work. Also, platform and stabilizer controls do not require simultaneous
operation of “safety” switch. After power is turned back on, the operate safety
valve will switch back for normal operation.
The manual overrides may be used with either engine or emergency
pump operation.
1. The override knob on the appropriate hydraulic solenoid valve must be
pushed in or pulled out and held out by inserting the lock tool behind
the knob. See gure 2. The tool is attached to the valve with a retaining
chain. After this is done, the emergency pump can be operated. VERY
IMPORTANT: This lock out tool must be removed when manual operation
is completed.
2. Pull the red override knob on the stabilizer valve labeled SV2 and insert
the slotted lock tool under the knob to keep it extended. Operate the
emergency pump until stabilizers are raised enough to clear the ground,
then remove the tool from under the knob.
3. Pull the red override knob on the platform lift cylinders directional control
valve labeled SV1 and insert the slotted lock tool under the knob to keep it
extended. Operate the emergency pump until platform cylinders are raised
or lowered enough, then remove the tool from under the knob.
