TML-704H Maintenance Lift Manual No. 310547
1 DESCRIPTION
Vehicle Running Lights
All running lights are powered by the keyswitch circuit and are only
energized in the "RUN" position.
• The headlights and rear lights are controlled by a two-position toggle switch
on the instrument panel.
• Stoplights are controlled by a hydraulic pressure switch in the brake line.
• The backup lights are controlled by a switch on the automatic transmission
shifter shaft.
Platform Work Lights
The platform work lights located on the forward and aft ends of the platform
are controlled by individual switches in the light xtures.
Horn Circuit
Power to the horn circuit is fed through the accessory side of the ignition
switch. The circuit is protected by a 7.5-amp fuse. The horn is controlled by a
center-mounted button on the steering wheel.
Platform Up/Down Circuit
Operation of the platform lift and stabilizers is hydraulically prevented by the
Operational Safety valve SV3. Instrument panel switch SW4 or platform
switch SW12 must rst be closed in order to energize this valve.
Power to energize the Platform Up valve solenoid SV1A must rst ow
through handbrake switch LS-HB, control switch SW8 (or SW9) and pressure
switch PS-SE.
The handbrake switch is mounted on the handbrake mechanism, and the
contacts will only close when the handbrake is fully applied. When the
handbrake is applied, power feeds the "Park Brakes On" light PL6 on the
instrument panel. Diode REC 2 across the light is a "yback" diode. This
diode allows the inductive energy stored by the solenoid coils (when
energized) to bypass the light (PL6) and discharge harmlessly when a
solenoid is de-energized. If REC 2 were not present, a high voltage spike
would momentarily appear across the lament of PL6, resulting in greatly
reduced bulb life.
The pressure switch is mounted within the hydraulic package on the left side
of the unit. The contact on this switch only closes when the stabilizers are fully
lowered.
Power to energize the Platform Down valve SV1B must ow through
handbrake switch LS-HB and control switch SW8 (or SW9) only.
Stabilizer Up/Down Circuit
Operation of the platform lift and stabilizers is hydraulically prevented by the
Operational Safety valve SV3. Instrument panel switch SW4 or platform
switch SW12 must rst be closed in order to energize this valve.
