Read Messages (Menu 2 1)
When you receive a text message and there is still space left in the mes-
sage memory, the text TEXT MESSAGE RECEIVED and the   indi-
cator will be displayed and a notification tone will sound if the phone has 
not been set to Silent within the menu function Call Alert (Menu 6 1). 
1 To view the message(s) immediately:
Press   (Read).
To view the message(s) later:
Press  . Then when you want to read the message(s): Press   
(Menu), scroll with   or   to MESSAGES, press   (Select) and 
then press   (Enter) to access READ MESSAGES. 
2 Scroll through the message(s) with   or  .
3 While reading the message, press   (Options) for the available 
options, and scroll with   or   to the desired option and press   
(OK) to perform it.
• Erase: Deletes the displayed message. Press   (OK) to confirm 
the operation.
• Read next: Shows the next message.
• Send: Sends the message to the desired phone number. Key in the 
recipient’s phone number, or press   (Phone book) and scroll 
with   or   to the desired number, and press   (Send). 
Note: To send a text message, your message centre number must 
be stored in the Message Centre Number menu (Menu 2 5).
• Use number: Extracts the sender’s phone number from the mes-
sage and moves to call mode. Use   or   to toggle between the 
call and save modes. Press   (Call) to dial the number or   
(Save) to store the number in Phone Book.
• Edit: Allows you to make changes in the message. Press   to 
move the cursor to the right and   to move the cursor to the left. 
You can delete single characters with  . To send the message, 
press   (Options), select Send and press   (OK), then key in 
the recipient’s number (or press   (Phone book) and scroll 
with   or   to the desired number) and press   (Send).
