4 Reply: Allows you to send a reply message to the sender of the cur-
rently displayed message. Press   (Options), select Reply and 
press   (OK). Key in the message and press   (Options). Select 
Send and press   (OK), then press   (Send) to send the message 
to the displayed number. 
Write Messages (Menu 2 2)
1 Press   (Menu), scroll with   or   to MESSAGES, press   
(Select), then scroll with   or   to WRITE MESSAGES and press 
 (Enter).
2 Key in a message (of up to 160 characters). The number of remaining 
available characters is shown in the upper right corner of the display. 
(For keying in letters and numbers, see Storing a Name & Phone 
Number in Phone Book in the Basic Functions chapter.) 
3 Once you have written the message, press   (Options) for the 
available functions and scroll with   or   to the desired function and 
press   (OK) to perform it.
• Send: Sends the message to the desired phone number. Key in the 
recipient’s phone number (or press   (Phone book) and scroll 
with   or   to the desired number) and press   (Send).
Note: To send a text message, your message centre number must 
be stored in the Message Centre Number menu (Menu 2 5).
• Save: Allows you to store the message for sending it later by using 
the Send function in the Read Messages menu (Menu 2 1). 
Tip: While editing a message or keying in a new message, you can switch 
to numeric mode by pressing and holding the
 key. The ABC indicator 
will disappear from the display. To switch back to alpha mode, press and 
hold the   key again. The ABC indicator will reappear.
